Why culture with a "K"?
The 'K' in lovekulture represents two things. The letter 'K' is a "voiceless" consonant, meaning you have to briefly shut your airways to your vocal tract to pronounce the letter. Therefore the 'K' in lovekulture represents the voiceless, the overlooked, the invisible, and the unknown. When we do love, we see the individuals who are often overlooked.
'K' also represents an open hand. When we do love, we are not afraid to give, to share, or to connect.
What We Do
There are three major components of LoveKulture
WORD Through spoken word art, speaking engagements, and blogs we express a passion and experience for active love in our relationships and with our fellow neighbors.
WEAR Through creative messages on fashionable t-shirts, we encourage ourselves and others to practice love
WORK Through service work, we demonstrate acts of love. Proceeds from speaking engagements and t-shirts are used to support non-profit organizations that serve orphan and foster care children.
What We Believe
VALUE We believe that everyone has something to offer. The gold in lovekulture represents the truth that our lives have significance. You are not a mistake.
WORTH We believe that everyone's life is inestimable. Inspired by the greatest, historical demonstration of love, we believe that all of our lives were worth the cross of Jesus. The red 't' in kulture represents the great lengths through which love has been and can be expressed, reaching far and wide. We were worth a life.
IDENTITY We believe that everyone has distinct characterstics and attributes that beautify us, and should be celebrated and, when neccessary, challenged Love requires celebrating our strengths as well as facing our growth areas. We are all works in progress AND we are beautiful.
How We Work
We donate to four non-profit organizations a year. Each of these organizations use monetary funds to provide for the material, psychological and emotional needs of orphan or foster care children.
At least 20% of the proceeds from the sales of lovekulture products and performances is given to aid the work of local and international non-profit organizations which service children and the poor, the most invisble of us all.
Dear friends, what good is it if someone claims to have faith but has no actions to prove it? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food, and someone says to him, "Peace, brother! Stay warm and eat hearty!" without giving him what he needs, what good does it do?. Faith without actions is dead.
--James 2: 14-16, The Bible

Love Kulture is a decision to choose the best, an attitude of love, and a lifestyle of service. Let's do love!
